Learn how to climb from our amazing instructors. Everything from the very basic movements and skills to classes for those with intermediate experience. Kids under 7 years old must have a parent stay at the wall during class.

Introduce your little one to the exciting world of climbing! This fun, beginner class helps build coordination, confidence, and a sense of adventure!

Climbing Level 1 Geckos 

A great introduction to climbing for kids 7 to 12 years old. Terminology, safety, fundamentals, and fun are the focus of these 4 classes.

Climbing Level 2 Cubs 

Already know the basics of rock climbing? Learn to move more efficiently and gracefully on the wall by joining climbing instructors for 4 classes of learning to improve your footwork, hand placement, and body positioning to advance your climbing skills!

Climbing Level 3 Goats 

For all ages who have completed level 2. Semi-structured class with instruction based on the needs of students, with 1:5 staff-to-climber ratio.

Family Climbing Class Wolf Pack 

A class for families looking to spend time on the wall. Terminology, safety, and technique fundamentals are sure to get your family having fun climbing together.

Adult Skills & Confidence Climbing 

Whether you’re new to climbing or ready to advance your skills, our instructors will guide you through proper movement, belay techniques, and problem-solving on the wall—all in a supportive, social environment.

7th & 8th Grade Climb Team 

The 7th & 8th grade climbing team offers students a chance to learn techniques, safety practices and team work. Participants have the opportunity to enhance their skills and enjoy a fun, supportive environment. Fee also covers MRD’s Annual Climbing Competition

5th & 6th Grade Rec Climbing Team 

Develop climbing skills, learn safety practices, and build teamwork in a fun and supportive team environment. Participants will gain confidence, improve their climbing abilities, make new friends, and work toward personal climbing goals. This program also helps prepare climbers for future participation on MRD's competitive climbing team.
