MRD offers a variety of different activities and weekly cultural, recreational and/or educational tours. Click on each tab to see a listing of activities/tours offered at this time.

In case of inclement weather, trips will be rescheduled if at all possible. Participants will be notified of any date changes. A full refund will be issued if a trip cannot be rescheduled.

Premier World Discovery

Great Canadian Cities 

This immersive Canadian tour provides a Montreal City Tour, Rail Journey and tour of Quebec City, Ottawa tour and trip to 1000 islands, and Niagra Falls. Rose Parade New Years 

Visit Capistrano, Newport Beach, and Laguna Beach, and bring in the New Year in Costa Mesa. Watch the famous Rose Bowl Parade in reserved grandstand seats. Marble Sculpting Symposium and the Marble Mill Site Park 

Enjoy a day in beautiful Marble - located near the Maroon Bells and Ragged Wilderness areas. The Marble Sculpting Symposium brings together stone carvers from around the world to share the art and joy of stone carving in a non-competitive form. Spectators are welcome to move around the artists and ask questions. We will also visit the Marble Mill Site Park, historical church, and eat at the famous Slow Groovin BBQ restaurant.

Olathe Sweet Corn and Rockin W Cheese

Ouray County Ranch History Museum and Forest Discovery Trail - Ridgway State Park 

We will begin the day at Ridgway State Park to enjoy stunning views of the San Juan Mountains with a short – easy walk from the Visitor Center. Next, we will visit the Ouray County Ranch History museum, whose mission is to preserve and share Ouray County ranching history and heritage, including stories of the area's early settlers from mid-1800s to today.

Clark's Family Orchard - Palisade 

Pioneering a new industry for the area and starting a family legacy, James A. & Phoebe Clark planted some of the very first fruit trees in the valley on their 20 acre farm in 1897. Their fruit growing dreams preceded the Grande River Diversion Dam and Palisade’s canal systems, so their earliest crops were watered with buckets hauled from the Colorado River by horse drawn wagons. We will enjoy a carriage ride, fresh produce at the fruit stand, finished with lunch and spirits a t Clark &CO distilling.

Fort Uncompahgre and The Grove - Delta 

The original Fort Uncompahgre was a Central hub for trade and travel routes throughout the West and was established a short distance from the confluence of the Compahgre (Uncompahgre) and Blue or Eagletail (Gunnison) Rivers. 

The Grove is a thoughtfully planned venue which includes a restaurant, nursery, gift shop and market.

Black Bridge Winery and Pumpkin Patch 

This farm market and winery is in the rugged, pristine North Fork Valley of the Gunnison River near Paonia, Colorado – a place so beautiful their produce can’t help but taste great! The 80-acre farm was established in 1976 as a grower supplier for wholesale fruit packing houses in western Colorado.

Dream Catcher Horse Therapy Center 

At Dream Catcher Therapy Center, healing unfolds across 72 acres – where rescue horses teach resilience without words, and the quiet presence of dogs, cats, and chickens helps you reconnect, feel safe, and begin again.  Healing comes naturally. We will be given a tour by Tina, Lead Horse Therapist, and have some hands on time with the horses

Davewood Interpretive Trail 

The Dave Wood Interpretive trail, aka Simms Mesa Loop, is located in the Plateau Division of the Uncompahgre National Forest near Montrose, Colorado. The trail begins at the Forest Service boundary on the Dave Wood Road where it follows a scenic loop that leads it through thickets of oakbrush and tall stands of ponderosa pines. This hike is 2 miles and rated as easy.

We will walk the paved River Trail from Colorado Outdoors to Cerise Park – approximately 3.5 miles – considered an easy hike. Afterward, enjoy Brunch and Mimosa at Toasty All Day Eatery.

This is a 3.5 easy rated trail located in the Gunnison Gorge National Conservation and Wilderness area. The hike could involve some water crossings.

This is a 3–4-mile hike that is rated moderate and is located near Mesa Lakes in the Grand Mesa National Forest.

This is a 5-6 mile out and back trail that follows an old mining road that parallels the East Fork Cimarron River through meadows and forest. The trail is rated easy/moderate with some water crossing and high elevation.

Gunnison Gorge Floating Trip - With Western Slope SUP 

A perfect day on the river for all ages. Enjoy spectacular canyon scenery, splash through small waves, swim in the cool waters of the Gunnison River, view bald eagles, great blue heron and more!

High Proof and High Peaks Jeep Tour with Alpine Scenic 4x4 and KJ Wood Distillery 

 This 4-hour tour travels south on highway 550 through the most iconic section of The Million Dollar Highway. Depending on conditions, we will go to either Corkscrew or Yankee Boy Basin. At the top, our expert tour guide and owner of KJ Wood Distillers, will treat the group to tastings of his whiskey and gin made at his distillery in Ouray.

Wine Tasting Tours

West Elks Wine Trail 

West Elks Wine Trail – The West Elks Wine Trail near Hotchkiss and Paonia is renowned for being home to some of the highest elevation vineyards in North America. It is known for producing high-quality, aromatic and acidic cool-climate wines, along with wine cider. We will experience the taste of 3 different wineries/orchards during our visit.
