Astro's professional background is in social work, working with people that are chronically homeless and with severe mental health and substance abuse issues. He was brought to the parks and recreation field by a passion for service, outdoor recreation, and Montrose. He currently works to bring outside funding to the district and help the MRD most effectively serve our community by making analytical, data-driven decisions.  Astro has degrees in philosophy, environmental economics, and social administration.
