Experiential and Field Trip Programs
Experiential and field trip programs bring learning to life through hands-on adventures and engaging real-world experiences. From week-long courses focused on topics like animals and soil science to exciting outings at places like Bananas Fun Park and visits to local museums, participants explore, discover, and stay curious beyond the classroom. These programs combine fun and education to create memorable experiences that spark interest and inspire learning.
Sign your kids up for one or all of Bri's one day intensive soil and gardening classes! Participants will learn how to build organic, healthy soil and will take home materials to start their own garden.
Session 1: Friday, September 11, 9:00am-4:00pm

Stay up late with MRD and experience the Perseid meteor shower—the brightest meteor show of 2026—under the dark skies. Join us for peak meteor activity while MRD staff handle the driving, lead a laser-guided tour of the constellations, share fun space facts, and serve warm drinks.

This weeklong morning camp sponsored by the Montrose Animal Protection Agency (MAPA) includes guest speakers, visits from animal friends, and a field trip to the Montrose Animal Shelter.
